MEET CYNDI
I’m Cyndi Horwitz, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to supporting individuals on their mental health journey. As an author, longtime yoga practitioner, and mother, I bring a rich tapestry of experiences to my practice.
With nearly two decades in the mental health field, my understanding of healing has been shaped not only within the therapy room but also through life experiences such as grief, motherhood, caregiving, and relationships. These lessons have taught me that life often asks us to navigate challenges beyond what we thought we could bear.
Rather than providing answers for someone else's life, my experiences have deepened my appreciation for the complexities of being human. It’s essential to have a space where we can share our struggles without feeling alone.
My approach as a Cyndi Horwitz therapist is warm, relational, and collaborative. I focus on both your present circumstances and the underlying patterns that influence your life—how you relate to yourself and others, the burdens you’ve carried, and what you need now to move forward.
I don’t see my role as telling you who to become. Instead, I believe that therapy should help you build a deeper understanding of yourself, trust your own voice, and create more choices in how you navigate life.
My background in yoga and mindfulness therapy informs my approach to healing. When appropriate, I incorporate mindfulness techniques, nervous-system awareness, breathwork, or other body-based tools into our sessions. Sometimes we may engage in these practices; other times, we may simply have a conversation. Remember, the tools are here to support therapy, not to dictate it.
Above all, my goal is to create a therapeutic environment where you can bring your whole self—both the understandable and the uncertain—knowing we can start from wherever you are.
I offer in-person therapy in Westlake Village and provide telehealth services throughout California.
